About our concrete contractor crew in Pelham

Pelham Concrete pours driveways, patios and slabs in Pelham and nearby cities, working from a clear plan and getting the prep right before the truck arrives.

How I came to pour concrete in Pelham

Before I ever finished a slab myself, I spent years running the schedule for a busy concrete company, lining up crews, trucks and inspections. I learned the work from the crews I was scheduling, watching what made a pour go right and what made it go wrong. In 2017 I started Pelham Concrete, and we've been pouring here since.

Most of our calls come from homeowners, along with some small business owners and builders. Our own crew does the work, and when a job needs someone outside our trade, like a surveyor, we help you line them up. When a permit is needed, we handle the paperwork with the city or county office, and inside Pelham that means the city's Building Department.

Concrete is hard to undo once it sets, so we take our time on the part you won't see on pour day, the base the slab sits on. A nice finish on a poor base settles and cracks with the dirt under it, so if the budget gets tight, I'd rather trim the finish than the base. That's also why I'll explain a step twice rather than leave you guessing.

  • A written quote that says what's included
  • A pour date set around each step
  • Plain answers before you sign
  • A base dug out and packed firm

What working with our concrete crew is like

We treat your house and your time the way we'd want ours treated, with a plan you can follow, a tidy site and nobody left guessing.

  1. Each step in order

You see each step in order from the start, with the pour date set around them so the steps don't get squeezed.

  2. The person who prices it

I walk the job with you and write the estimate myself, so the one pricing your work is the one answering questions.

  3. Questions answered plainly

Ask as many questions as you like. You'll get plain answers before you sign anything, and I'm glad to go over a point twice.

  4. Word when the date moves

If rain or another step pushes the pour, you hear it from us with the new plan, not from a crew that never shows.

  5. Water running away from your house

We check where rain runs before we lay out the slab, so it sheds water away from your house instead of toward it.

  6. Licensed, insured and guaranteed

We're fully licensed and insured, and we back the work with one promise, satisfaction guaranteed on every job.

How we run a concrete job

Each job runs on a plan you can see, so you know what happens first, what has to wait and why, and we clean up before we call it done.

  1. First visit

After you get in touch, I walk the site with you and look at the ground, the slope and where water runs.

  2. Plan and estimate

You get a free written quote that spells out what's included and what moves the price, like size, access and base work.

  3. Preparing the ground

We sort out any permit, then dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab rests on, until it's firm.

  4. The pour

We schedule the pour to miss the midday heat, then cut control joints, grooves that give cracks a straight place to go.

  5. Curing and clean-up

We clean up, walk the finished slab with you and tell you how long to stay off it while it cures and hardens.
